Email Notices
If you have placed an order with us and have not received an email
response, you may want to make some changes to your email account.
Customers who use AOL, MSN, Outlook, Outlook Express or a variety of
email services or programs that has a SPAM BLOCKING feature should
be aware that you might have to add us to your “Authorized or
Allowed List.” This is probably the reason you haven’t received
your automated email immediately after you placed your order and why
you haven’t received any shipping information. If you need help
with this feature please call and we will try to walk you through
it.
Age Policy
You must be a minimum of 18 years old OR the minimum age required in
your state to purchase tobacco products. By completing the Age
Verification function at checkout you are acknowledging you are of
legal age to purchase tobacco products in your state. ALL CUSTOMERS
must complete the Age Verification function or you will not be
allowed to purchase products from South Tampa Cigars.
Taxes
Customers who purchase FROM or send products TO the
State of Florida will be subject to a 7% sales tax. At the present
time we are not required to collect any other taxes for products
shipped to or from any other state in the union. Please be advised,
however, that some states do require the end user to pay a state
tobacco tax for products received from out of state. Every state
has different requirements but it is traditionally the purchaser’s
responsibility and is usually paid on the honor system.
Payment Methods
Purchases through South Tampa Cigar’s website are limited to the
following CREDIT CARDS: Visa, Mastercard, American Express,
Discover. We do accept MONEY ORDERS and CERTIFIED CHECKS. These
methods of payment must be in the correct amount and must include
all shipping fees. Products will not be shipped until MONEY ORDERS
& CERTIFIED CHECKS have cleared and processed through our bank. Due
to ongoing issues it is our policy to not accept CHECKS in any
form. Since we do not ship to foreign countries, we do not accept
foreign currency in any form.
Chargebacks/Disputes/Fraudulent Purchases
Credit card chargebacks will be assessed a $25 processing fee plus
any fees incurred to collect the debt including but not limited to
court costs. If you have a dispute with a charge to your credit
card PLEASE CONTACT US and we will do all we can to help resolve the
issue. If it becomes obvious that a chargeback or dispute is
strictly a means to obtain products without paying or is the
fraudulent use of a credit card we will take the necessary steps
with the appropriate credit card company to dispute the charge on
our own behalf and collect what is rightfully due. Fraudulent
charges are a reportable felony in many states.
Changing Orders
Once an online order has been submitted it cannot be altered or
changed. However, our Customer Service Department
may be able to cancel the online
order and you can either resubmit the online order yourself OR call
and we can adjust your order and make the necessary changes. The
key is to DO IT AS SOON AS YOU CAN!!
Online Transaction Safety
All online transactions are done electronically with Visa,
Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal and VeriSign. These
money exchange services provide the most secure, encrypted online
transactions that we can offer. These services cost us a bit more
but we want our customers to be as secure as possible.
Quality Control & Inspection
Although it is a rare occurrence, we do on occasion break factory
seals on boxes and bundles to inspect for quality control prior to
shipping. It is our right to do so but mostly we do this should a
customer express a concern about a specific product or a quality
concern about a past or present shipment. The bottom line is we
want to do our best to make sure our valued customers get their
cigars in the freshest and highest quality condition possible.
Returns
Tobacco products cannot be returned without a Return Authorization
from South Tampa Cigars. If we made a mistake with your order we
will make every attempt to correct the problem to your liking. The
sooner you contact us – the better. We would prefer you contact us
within 48 hours. Items that have been received by a customer for
longer than 7 days are not eligible for a return.
Items returned without a Return Authorization will not be issued
credit of any kind.
If you are
returning an item for a reason that is not the fault of our store
there will be a 20% restocking fee and shipping charges will not be
refunded. We take every precaution to ship your items to you in
excellent condition and we expect to receive them back the same way
– this means sealed, undamaged boxes. If an item is returned
partially damaged, through no fault of our own, we have no choice
but to try to salvage what we can of the shipment and give you
credit for the remaining undamaged portion (less 20% restocking fee
if applicable). Personalized or Customized products can never be
returned. All refunds will be issued to the same account that the
purchase was made from. If for some reason the refund account no
longer exists, South Tampa Cigars will issue a check and mail
it to you.
Backorders
Manufacturing shortages, advertising campaigns, booms, seasonal
demands, discontinued products, magazine reviews are just some of
the reasons that cause shortages in the industry and the result is
backorders from our manufacturers. It is our store policy to not
sell items on our website that we know are not available or are so
limited in number that it becomes frustrating to us and our
customers to even consider offering these items. If a backorder
occurs or an item is no longer available (discontinued, limited
quantities, specials), you will be immediately contacted and given a
choice of: WAIT for the backorder to fill; SUBSTITUTE for another
size or different item; REFUND back to your credit card. Backorders
happen and they are a pain for customers and us. We try our best to
deal with backorders in an honest and upfront manner – we want our
customers to be happy and to be treated fairly.
Limited Availability Products
Many manufacturers offer items that have limited quantities.
Limited Quantities can be due to a special crop, a special event,
seasonal items, crop failure or any number of items that can cause
an item to be limited. We always list “limited quantity” items as
such in our website and try to keep as current as possible on these
items. Need more info on a limited item – call/email and we’ll get
you an answer.
Privacy Policy
We strongly believe in the protection of our visitors and customers
privacy. Please be assured that whether you are a visitor or a
registered customer that ALL information is kept solely for the use
of its intended purpose. We NEVER release or sell gathered
information to ANYONE. Period.
We do contact our customers by email on a regular basis. Each and
every email sent to our Visitors and Customers will always have a
choice to opt out. Again, we respect the privacy of our users. |
